The Bahamas Margaritaville DM0500 frozen-concoction maker offers the ultimate in frozen margarita deliciousness in one easy step. It comes themed with a tropical green color, nautical design elements and chrome accents to add zest to your next party.
Driven by a 450-watt power output, the Bahamas Frozen Concoction Maker can be used to make margaritas, mudslides, daiquiris, or other frozen concoctions and has dual motors for simultaneously shaving ice and blending your concoction.
Ice Reservoir Unit
The Bahamas DM0500’s Ice Reservoir holds the ice for making your frozen drinks. It is comprised of an Ice reservoir into which you tip your ice and holds enough ice to make one full pitcher of margaritas in one automatic cycle.
Inside it is a shaving paddle which moves the ice to a sharp shaving blade, on top, an ice chute which directs a slurry of shaven ice into your frozen concoction ingredients, in the blender jar; and beneath the ice jar there is an ice melt reservoir which captures any water from melting ice so you never get water diluting your concoction.
The whole thing rests on top of a base unit with the controls in front. The unit’s power lead is cleverly hidden in the bottom of the unit covered by a cord storage door.
Blending JarThe DM0500 has a 36-ounce shatterproof jar with a tropical green-colored base and lid. It is large and sturdy and its 36oz. capacity is adequate for making 4 glasses of drinks in one go.
The blending jar is transparent with clear measurements down the side so you can easily see how the blending is going – especially while in manual mode as well as measure your ingredients accurately. It also has a pour spout so you can pour your drinks without making a mess.
The blending jar and its components are all dishwasher safe, and the rest of the unit quickly wipes clean.
Controls
All the controls are in front, fully accessible, large and simple to use.
There are 3 Simple controls –
- On/Off switch.
- Automatic Shave ‘n blend Start Button
- Separate shave only and blend only buttons for manual operation.
Accessories
Included in the pack is a shot glass.
Various transport containers and accessories such as replacement blending jar are available to purchase separately.
Using the Margaritaville DM0500
It is simplicity itself to use – Set the Bahamas to its pre-programmed Shave-N-Blend controls setting, load up the ice reservoir with ice, then add the ingredients you want to blend to the blending jar and then press the start control button.
The Margaritaville DM0500 does the rest of the work for you by automatically shaving the ice and then whipping it up into your drinks to produce as much as 36 ounces of perfectly blended frozen drinks. Because it shaves the ice rather than crushing it you are never be left with chunks of ice in the middle of your drinks.
The shaved ice ensures better drink consistency - no more ice chunks or watered down drinks. The Bahamas allows you to shave only and blend only to create customized frozen concoctions by adding more shaved ice or blending a little bit longer.
The ice reservoir holds enough ice to make one full pitcher of margaritas in one automatic cycle, while melting ice is channelled into the melted ice reservoir to avoid watered-down drinks.
How to make smoothies with the DM0500
To make smoothies or other frozen drinks, first add the ingredients such as your fruits to your ingredient blending jar and blend manually. After ingredients are well blended then run the pre-programmed cycle as usual.
What if the status light is blinking red for errors
In most cases this will flash because the containers are not locked down into position. Simply check that the Ice Reservoir, Ice Reservoir Lid, and blending jar are properly positioned and in the lock position.
