The Cuisinart SmartPower Portable Blender is a Compact but quite powerful kitchen appliance designed to help take care of all your blending, mixing and food processing tasks in the kitchen including ice-crushing, blending, mincing, chopping and preparing all sorts of smoothies.

This blender is a compact unit with a small footprint designed to easily fit any worktop without taking up lots of space.

Blender Base/Motor Unit
This blender has a sturdy and stable base unit housing a 350-watt motor to give you powerful blender performance. You are also protected with a safety interlock feature to ensure the machine does not run when the blades are exposed to touch. The unit is actually turned on when you insert the blender jar so there is no risk of you cutting your fingers. The unit’s fashionable stainless steel accents are designed to easily complement any kitchen.

It has slip-proof feet to stop your unit moving about and damaging your countertop or kitchen table while in use and includes cord storage to store excess electrical cord and keep your working area safe and tidy.

Controls
Controls consist of a simple user-friendly electronic keypad, which you can operate single handed to change the blenders functions. The 3-function touch pad control comes with easy to read blue LED indicator lights that clearly show you what speed you are blending at. Options are simple - High, Low and Pulse.

Blade Assembly Unit
On top of the base unit rest either of two high-quality blade units. These are made of hard metal strong enough to carry out all your blending, chopping and grinding needs. They are designed to always easily slip into and lock correctly into the base unit exactly in the right position/alignment. You can easily swap the blade assemblies depending on which task you want to perform at the time.

Blender Jar
The blender jar, which sits on top of the motor housing unit, has a 32oz capacity. It is sturdy enough for everyday use. The blending jar has no handle but as it is only 32oz capacity you can lift it easily even when full. It also has a cover lid, which includes a measured pour lid (1oz) so you can add measured amounts of liquid without needing to remove the whole top cover and risk splashing onto your kitchen top.

Chopper Vessel
In addition, there is also an 8oz. chopper vessel you can use for mincing herbs as well as whipping, chopping and grinding drier substances.

Travel Cups
The blender also comes with four 16oz. lidded travel or "To Go" cups for preparing your smoothies, shakes, diet drinks, health drinks etc.

All these vessels, jars and cups are made from new BPA free Tritan from Eastman co-polyester so first of all they are resistant to being shattered if dropped and you can easily save time and energy by washing them clean in your dishwasher since they are dishwasher safe.

Since the vessels are all certified BPA free, you are not at risk of any chemicals leaking into your mix when you are making your smoothies or other blended preparations.

Using the Cuisinart Blender/Chopper
This blender has a rather unusual method of use. With the chopper and travel cups, you fill these with whatever you want to blend or grind, screw the blade assembly unit onto the top of the cup where the lid normally stays, then turn the cup upside down so the blades are on the bottom and key the blades into the base unit automatically switching it on.

All you need to do is select a speed and its starts work. Once done, remove the cup, turn it back upright and replace the blade assembly with your cup cover and you have your smoothie ready to go or your ground material ready to use or store. When you want to use the blending jar, the blade assembly needs to be securely attached to the jar's bottom with the lid at the top.

Generally speaking this blender is beautiful to look at and easy to use. It exudes quality far beyond its cost. Controls are simple to use by anyone and it is designed to be safe to use even though it is extremely powerful.

The fact that it comes with four cups into which family members can make their own smoothies separately and directly in their own cups without you needing to wash the blender jar out in between each blend is a brilliant and massive time and energy saver. Another quality product from Cuisinart. Highly recommended.
